Using a laptop touchpad, but it says I am using socket?

I realized that the tap click on My Dell laptop has become suddenly activated when it is off, a few months. I went to control panel, mouse, and it had not noticed the Device Settings tab to disable the keys. I clicked on the Hardware tab, and wrote devices have synaptics PS / 2 pointing device. I looked at the place and says connected to PS / 2. I anything connected to a port, and neither a normal mouse. Amm me puzzled as to what happens. You must uninstall. It happens to my earlier point tracking Ps.2 not Touch Pad. You can try to go the Control Panel Device Manager in mice and other pointing device.
