How to connect laptop to LCD / Plasma?

Ok asique's the deal, I'm kind of new to this subject, so that I ask for best results. I have a Dell Precision M70 with Windows Vista Ultimate. I would be able to connect an LCD TV to use as a screen and see the Media Center. I looked at Toshiba 32 Inch Lcd TV and the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 MCE Kit - TV tuner / video input adapter - PCI me access all the features of Media Center. What I need to know: What LCD TV is a good option, what cables you need to buy to obtain a good quality screen and the computer screen still appears when connected to LCD TV?
