It Hollowtech (not Hollowgram) is the name of Shimano cranks hollow forgings used with Octalink bottom bracket with splines. These rods are lighter with two channels of welding aluminum forged together. Two-piece Hollowtech II crank / bottom bracket system was introduced in 2004 to 10 speed Dura-Ace row. These bearings use outboard suspended external bottom bracket. Ball Bearing is old-skool. Some manufacturers use a Sealed Bearings instead Ball Bearings or Hollowtech.
